چکیده
Multi-effect distillation (MED) systems are considered to be the most energy-efficient thermal desalination methods. This paper introduces development of a novel system for performance superior MED same operating temperature limits. Such an unprecedented achievement was attained by upgrading heat source using chemical potential adsorption phenomena. The proposed Adsorption Heat Transformer (AHT) cycle hybridized with (AHT-MED) exhibits higher ratio and water production rate than conventional heating sink. generated is supplied first effect system, thus, extending difference between Top Brine Temperature (TBT) Bottom (BBT). offers more number effects, equivalent effects (ΔTe) as design parameter. Using low-temperature (as low 58 °C), can employ increased high 11) due supply at around 80 °C. achieves (approximately 5.4) (2 kg/s) compared standalone (PR: 4.2, WPR: 1 hybrid 10 constant interstage systems. AHT-MED opens up new possibilities source-driven significantly improved performance.

A new absorption vapor compression distillation was proposed in present research. An open absorption heat transformer has a coupled thermally evaporator and absorber. Distillation of waste water with high content of SiO 2 from heavy oil production. The waste heat of 70 C can be elevated up to 125 C and generate steam of 120 C. The waste heat is able to drive four-effect distillation to produce ...

The mathematical model to predict the performance and the exergetic efficiency in a multi-effect desalination system with thermal vapor compression (MED-TVC system) has been presented. The energy and the concentration conservation law were developed for each effect, considering the boiling point elevation and the various thermodynamic losses by developing the mathematical models. These analyses...

This report presents a novel Advanced Multi-Effect Distillation (AMED) method that can enable the production of substantial quantities of low-cost desalinated water using waste heat from high temperature reactors (HTRs). Conventional MED systems can currently compete with reverse osmosis desalination in areas where energy costs are relatively low, such as the Middle East. Because AMED can perfo...

Coffee-powered chemistry: Low-grade waste heat on surfaces can be used to drive chemical reactions, including the regeneration of a CO2 capture solution. Flowing two-phase heat transfer has been implemented within microvascular systems. This stripping system can be adapted to pre-fabricated surfaces, as demonstrated by a coffee mug containing a 1.2 m long microchannel. MEA=monoethanolamine.

In this research, a water-water heat pump system using waste water as a heat source, a type that is not often used in Turkey and the World, was experimentally modeled. The experiments were performed under the conditions of simulated waste water temperature values of 20 °C, 30 °C and 40 °C. Inlet and outlet water temperatures of the evaporator and condenser, water flow rates in the evaporator an...
